Meet your course leaders: Sophie, Jane and Chris.

Here, they introduce themselves and the role they will be taking on in this course.

Sophie Robinson
 

Company Director, so&so Pictures

Director of so&so pictures, Sophie Robinson has a strong reputation for telling impactful and powerful stories through the emotive characters that are at the core of her films. She specialises in working collaboratively with her subjects to create outstanding documentaries that provide a platform for a wide variety of previously unheard voices.

Her Netflix Original documentary, 'My Beautiful Broken Brain' was executive produced by David Lynch and nominated for an Emmy, Sophie is also behind award winning films such as BBC2’s 'Me, My Mouth and I', the highly acclaimed 'Nicola Roberts and The Truth about Tanning', as well as a variety of programmes for the BBC’s flagship science strand, Horizon.

As well as making films for broadcasters and independently, she's worked with brands and establishments, making content for Skype, The V&A, L’Orèal, Baileys and Universal Music to name a few.

Sophie will be the course leader for 'Part 1: Storytelling, the fundamentals' and 'Part 3: The application of storytelling'.

Jane Steel

Jane is Global Strategy Director at JKR. She’s been in the game 20 years, helping Heinz, Coca Cola and Danone achieve ultimate zen-like clarity, and lighting the way to brand building success for Miller Harris and The Gut Stuff - always with her signature contagious enthusiasm. 


Chris Sharpe
Copywriter, JKR

Chris is the founder of JKR’s Voice department. So when you’re lost for words, he helps finds them. He’s built brands like Hippeas and The Gut Stuff from the ground up. Raised the voices of Ugly and Jura to new heights. And sharpened the tongues of some of the world’s most famous brands with Mars and ABInBev.


Jane and Chris work with Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR), a design-led creative company with offices in London, New York, Singapore and Shanghai. The 300-strong team believe in designing brands for scale, disruption and good. Since its inception in 1990, JKR has partnered with companies including Unilever, AB InBev, Kraft Heinz and Mars Inc through to category disruptors Hippeas, Ugly and The Gut Stuff.

JKR has been recognised as D&AD's most awarded design agency of the year for two years running.
